Clarence Seward Darrow (1857 – 1938) was an American lawyer, leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union. victim gets nothing and is further punished via taxation to then support the criminal
is something I've been harping about for years.
There can be no doubt that all mankind's systems of justice fall way short and are
anything but Just. Darrow purports the idea of recompense, the idea that the perpetrator
should repay the damages of the offense to the victim which, of course is how it
should be.
I'd probably had given it 4 stars if not for the fact that he puts so much emphasis
on people not having a choice because they are products of not only
their environment but their genetic history. I've always taught my children that
regardless of their parenting, no matter how poorly of a job we have done, they
still have volition and can choose, to a large degree, who they become. In other
words, your past does not equal your future and though many do travel the course
of least resistance, it is also true that many have overcome the history of their
negative heritage and gone a completely different direction.

The greatest libertarian of our times, should be a must read in every high school of this country, it will open your eyes to our "so-called" freedom and democracy.
